At 7.2v it has twice the power and it performs much better. I am very happy with it. My only complaint is that it has recharging cord that must be disconnected before using, whereas the old "Buster" had a charging station from which I only had to lift it to use. Minor issue. It won't cut heavy brush or branches. Battery life is about 15-20 minutes. I suggest buying an extra charger so two batteries are always charged. My home is on a corner lot and it takes both batteries to do the trimming. I am very happy to have the grass hog. Not having to drag a cord around more than compensates for its low power.
